Learn New Hobbies During Quarantine (Part 2)

Looking for more new hobbies? We’ve got you covered!

1. Gardening

Do you know gardening helps reduce stress and improves the mood even more than reading a book! Even people without a green thumb find it enjoyable, and if you’re a beginner, you can always start with indoor plants. They’re easy, low-maintenance and almost impossible to kill if you lack that knack.

Best indoor plants:

  • Spider Plant
  • Snake Plant
  • Cactus
  • Rubber Tree
  • Aloe

2. Play an Instrument

Want to improve your memory? You should learn to play an instrument! But don’t worry about learning it alone, everything can be found online now. You just have to choose the right instrument and start! We would strongly recommend you to try Ukulele as it’s much easier than guitar and affordably priced from $50-$200.

3. Learn a new language

Love travelling but cannot communicate well? Then it’s time for you to pick up a new language before your next trip! By learning a new language, you will understand the culture and express yourself better in a foreign land.

Here is how we learned Korean:

  • Step 1: Choose dramas or movies to watch (of course, with English subtitles) like Crash Landing on You
  • Step 2: Write down common or basic words you came across during the movie and translate into English - “Saranghaeyo = I Love You”
  • Step 3: Continue Step 2 till you grasp the basics
  • Step 4: Find e-learning platforms to dive deeper into the language
